Baptism in Catan

I like to go with my parents to the Stake conferences in the variouse zones. I like to meet people and say hello to the Elders. I especially love the Catan zone. The people are so kind and sweet (as they are everywhere). The conference was the best one I have been to since we moved here, it was so good. Afterwords we went to a baptism for some Elders in the zone. There was this little girl that was the cutest thing ever. She had just turned 8 the day before and she couldnt have been more happy to be baptized. Before and after she had the sweetest smile on her face, and it just filled my heart with joy to see the happiness that she had for this special moment. I braided her hair before she went in, and she was so excited. I loved having a little part in her babtism. It was such a sweet family. Another set of elders baptized an older woman, that even at her old age was able to dip down into the waters of baptism...its never too late. During her confirmation she was whispering "Gloria, gloria" "Gracias Dios" and even though it was a little strange to hear someone talk during a prayer, but she was expressing her love and gratefullness and her intentions were pure. I am so happy for both familys, they are blessed with good elders!

Words from the wise

What a good conference talk by President Uchtdorf. I love this, and I think it is especially imporant in this day in age.

Sophmore Year

As my sophmore year comes to an end, I cant help but reflect back on some pictures of some good times. I am really blessed to have such amazing friends. The sophmores have been known to be the most spirited and united grade. All of us are always together, during breaks, during lunch, on weekends, at parties etc. Whenever we have spirit week competitions we win, which is so much fun. We dont participate in order to win, we just do it because we want to have fun! Because this year was my first year at Lincoln, I was worried it would take a while to adjust, but everyone was so nice to me and it only took a couple of days. Some of my sophmore friends will be leaving, but some of my good friends will be with me till the end!

Aprill, and its FREEZING!

It was 9 degrees celcius today. I am from Florida. Its April. Only going to get colder. Nuff said.

Girls night out with Maile

The plan for tonight was to go see Hunger Games. I have read all the books and loved them a lot! I have been so busy though and havent had time to make it, so finally this Saturday. We decided to go to the 6 oclock showing and got there about 40 minutes early. We though that at 5:30 in the afternoon, no one would be there to go see a movie. Boy were we wrong. There was a line all the way outside the food court, it was insane! So we stood in the line for about 45 minutes and when we got to the booth the lady asked how old we were. I said I was 16 and Maile said she was 14. Then the lady proceeded to ask for our IDs, I showed her mine, but Maile forgot hers, so the lady did NOT let us buy tickets. We were so disapointed, and so sad. But we definatly made up for it.

We went shopping and bought some super cute things. We went to ADVENTURA land and rode bumper-karts and Samba and played games. We got mexican food for dinner, and laughed harder than we had ever laughed before. We listened to country music while we waited in lines. We had sooo much fun together. It was a great girls night!

Jonahs Baptism

writing there testimonys in the notebook i got JB

sooo cute!

Happy as can be with his gift from Aunt B.

This post is a little over a week old, but its better late than never.

My nephew Jonah was baptized in our pool in the backyard. It was the sweetest thing ever. All of the zone leaders, familia cox, my sister and all of her kids, husband and in-laws all came. It was a beautiful day! We had the baptism in the morning and it was so nice. My dad then had a little meeting with the Elders, and then the cooks came to prepare lunch! We had an amazingly deliciouse asado!! Jonah had a great time talking to the Elders! Baptisms are always so pure, and lovely and you can just feel the spirit from everyone. Especially from Jonah! He couldnt have smiled any bigger all day!!

I love you so much my Jonah Bruce!!

Gordon B. Hinckley

"It isn’t as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don’t worry. I say that to myself every morning. It will all work out. If you do your best, it will all work out. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. … If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers." - Gordon B. Hinckley

I miss President Hinckley. He was so sweet, just like all of our Prophets today are. I love this quote...Sometimes you just gotta have a good quote for the day

Balet at Teatro Colon

Where the performance was held

My mom and dad have recently gone to see an amazing balet in the Teatro Colon. They enjoyed it so much that they wanted me to go. While Tricia was in town I babysatt her kids while she went with my parents, and then on Saturday I got to go with my friend Maile! Her and I put on some very nice clothes with heals, and did our hair and makeup. We went to the Teatro together in a remis and sang country songs the whole way there hahaha. Once we got there we were very surprised when the guard told us we were to enter in the "principales entrada". Which is the entrance for the main levels, and the "good seats" We felt very special walking the red carpet. Once we got in, we were even more surprised to have box seats on the 2nd level. They were most definatly the best seats since we ended up being in the dead center and we could see and hear perfectly. (Thank you so much mom and dad)

It was such a treat! It was so beautiful, and they dancers were incredible! The whole balet was a story (which im not going to explain because it would take forever!). The orchestra was also amazing and we enjoyed listening to the music. Maile and I felt like royalty for a night, which is nice once in a while. It was a fun time and im so glad I got to go!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to all my friends and family! I was asked to give a talk in sacrament meeting about the atonement. I felt good about it, and got lots of love after sharing my "discurso". It was a relaxing Easter. Dad had to do somethings to take care of the missionaries, but he was sweet enough to come to sacrament meeting to hear me talk. Easter wasnt as big of a deal as it usually is, but thats fine with me. It was just a good day to remember my Savior and everything he has done for me.

Eyes

I think eyes are such a beautiful part of the human body. The first thing I look at when I meet someone is there eyes. They can tell so much. They can tell you if someone is kind, or maybe not so kind. If someone is happy, or just sad. There have been times in my life when someones eyes have been an assurance of comfort. Other times, eyes have been a warning signal to me. However the best is when someones eyes are filled with love.

We all have our own unique and beautiful pair of eyes, but we dont always use them to their potential. Sometimes we see things that arent good..but we force our eyes to keep looking anyways. There are times when we see the sadness and hurt in others but choose to look away instead of look to "see" what they really need. However I guess its not our "eyes" fault. Its our own, we choose to see what we see.

So maybe our eyes need to be washed by our tears every once in a while..so that we can see life with a clearer view again..

Loosing weight is hard man..

I have a love/hate relationship with food. I love food SO much, but I absoloutly HATE the fact that it makes me gain weight! So annoying right? For the past 3 years I have constantly been in a battle with my weight. And I always go through the stage were I say "okay, im going to do this for real this time" and then like one week later..im back to my old habbits. This is so not acceptable, and it needs to stop. My mom once told me that what we eat and do with our bodies now in our young age, effects us when we are older. I dont want this to be a problem when im older! I want to have fun and not worry about it, and be healthy and feel good. Im a big believer in being healthy, yet I guess im not.

I could probably teach a class of health and nutrition with all the information I know about it. I have studied it for years, and researched so much information on it, yet rarely do I follow it.

So it starts today...
NO bread for a long long time,
NO sugar for a couple of months (or very very little of hit)
Im going to have to be hungry sometimes and not give my body the satisfication.
And im NOT going to give up. I can do this!!!

(One day when im older and skinnier, I shall look back on this post, and think about how wise I was to follow thes "commandments" of a healthier lifestyle:)

The cool Aunt!

No video games for tonight!!

MMMM yummy candyyy!

The cool kids!

I absoloutly adoreeee the look on Izzys face!

The Jonah Pose!! (that I think he picked up from the Elders ;)

I love this pictures, because we were all jumping and dancing and so was carter while he snapped this awesome shot!

Yes..I am the cool aunt, according to corky, izzy, j.b and carter! Over the past couple of weeks, the adults have been going out to eat and into the city, and I have been babysitting the littles! Pretty much every night we have had PaRtY NiGhT! Izzy I think has had the most fun with it. Every day Izzy will come to me and say "B, are we going to party with you tonight?" Of course I have to say yes! Once even came up to me and said "Dont start the party without me, I have to go brush my hair so we can party like ROCKSTARS!" Ahahaha that made me laugh. Our parties go something like this...

We blast the Ipod on the speakers..sometimes we go outside and dance on the tables..sometimes we go and jump on my bed. We make up dances and funny faces. We take videos and pictures for the memories. I let the kids eat probably more than enough candy (only a couple of times;) We watch movies..like Kung Fu Panda..(4 times..because Izzy just thought it was sooo silly!)

For our last night, Courtney and I stacked up some extra twin matresses next to my bed so that we could all sleep together, because my king bed is NOT big enough for, 4 little kickers and one teenager that likes her sleep! We watched Cars 2, and the kids ate lots of candy! We had a little dance party, and spent some time just laughing and tickling and playing.

I made the kids put there DS games on my makeup table, and they were right on it! Even putting it together in a nice formation hahaha. It was a fun time, I sure will miss these little monkeys!!

Seguines are in BA!

As I mentioned in a previouse post, my sister and her family are here in BA. The main reason was for Jonahs baptism (post is on its way) which was sooo incredible. We have had many fun adventures while being here! We have visited the cemetary..which by the way is both the weirdest and most interesting cemetary ive ever been too! We did some shopping in Recoleta. The kids had some more adventures with there Nana and Papa while either I was in school or babysitting the littles. The funnest part though, have been the parties when the adults are gone ;) You know..when the cats away, the mice will play! We would plug in the kids ipod and dance and sing at the top of or lungs, and jump on the bed and watch movies, and just be silly! The kids really looked forward to it..especially Izzy.

Its been so nice having them here. Sure do love the Sequine family :)

Lessons from the Missionaries.

(Picture taken from my moms blog..from a pastores tour)

Sometimes I refer to myself as a "normal human" when comparing myself to the missionaries. I feel like they are one step ahead of me..mentally and spirtitually. Dont get me wrong..I am very spiritual, however I feel that the Missionaries have something special to them. Every single day they study for hours. Every single day they spread the gospel to those around them. Every day they get on there knees in the morning...and at night, and im sure a few times in between. I wish I could bring myself to do that. I wish I had the discipline the Missionaries do. Where they just wake up in the mornings and do what there supposed to do because well..there supposed to, and the best part is, they do it with a smile and a happy heart.

I often find myself wanting to perfect things in my life to catch up to them. Or even just change for them. I feel like I should be on the same page they are on..on the same "cloud 9". I am so blessed to have the oppurtunity to be able to see the missionaries as often as I do. They really are like family to me..literally my brothers and sisters. I learn so much from them. I laugh with them, and I cry with them. I love them.

One day I will marry a return missionary. Until then I will prepare for him. Mentally: so that I can handle hard times and good times and be able to take on things emotionally. Spiritually: so that my kids will be raised in a good strong, loving family like mine, where they will grow up knowing that Heavenly Father loves them. Physically: so that I will live a long time and be healthy and be able to do the things I want to do. There are lots of other things to prepare for...but I think those are important. I have a couple years to work on things..but now is the time to start. As I would encourage any other youngwoman my age.

Horses and Nachos

They are so cute with there Nana.

Name of the track

Fun fact- all the pieces of white paper you see are the tickets that people have bought to gamble. My dad said that the ones that are ript are the ones where the person lost, and tore it p in anger.

Tricia and her family came to visit us for 2 weeks! Her son Jonah is getting baptized her in Argentina! In our pool in the back yard! Dan served his mission here about 17 years ago so I think they decided this would be a good oppurtunity to come back, I cant wait for the baptizm tommorow it should be amazing, as they always are. The zone leaders are comming as well and we will be having an asado.

While Tricia and her kids have been here, we have done some fun things. I just finished school for my break on friday, so I only have been able to hang out on weekends. Last saturday (the day they got here) We went to the horse race. We live about 5 minutes from the official track, so it was nice to be able to show up when we wanted. Horse races are such a thrill! It was soo much fun! Of course we didnt put in our money, but we all "guessed" who was going to win. To my dads dismay, the first horse I picked (number 11) WON!!! woohooo take that dad! haha anyways the kids had a blast.

after words we went to Lo De Nacho..probably the best place to have nachos in the world. And we caught up and had a nice dinner. It was great. Im glad they are here.
